Regular Season Round 14: Rennes - CFBB 87-66

Bottom-ranked CFBB (0-14) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 87-66 loss to twelfth ranked Union Rennes (7-7) in Rennes. The game without a history. Union Rennes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Union Rennes dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to CFBB's 30. Union Rennes forced 28 CFBB turnovers. Union Rennes players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. American forward Anthony Hill (204-88, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import swingman Daviin Davis (193-85, college: Weber St.) supported him with 16 points and 6 assists. Even 21 points and 6 rebounds by forward Ivan Fevrier (200-99) did not help to save the game for CFBB. Point guard Yanik Blanc (184-99) added 13 points for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Union Rennes moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams. CFBB at the other side still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Union Rennes' next round opponent will be Gries/Oberhoffen (#16) in Bischwiller and are hoping to win another game. CFBB will play at home against Orchesien BC and hopes to get finally their first victory.
