Group B top ranked Bayi Kylin (13-7) recorded its seventh loss in Yinzhou on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Xinjiang (9-9) 80-73. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Bayi Kylin. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in Group B. Xinjiang dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Bayi Kylin's 54. The best player for the winners was American forward Glory Johnson (191-90, college: Tennessee) who scored 26 points and 6 rebounds. ShiChing Peng chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. International center Mengran Sun (197-92) produced 21 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Lu Wen (188-90) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Xinjiang maintains second position in Group B with 9-9 record having six points less than leader Bayi. Bayi Kylin at the other side still keeps top place with seven games lost. Xinjiang are looking forward to face Heilongjiang Chenneng (#3) in Harbin in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Bayi Kylin will play on the road against Whale in Sichuan and is hoping to win this game.
