Regular Season Round 9: TTU - Tarvas 93-78

Everything could happen in Tallinn at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked TTU and 13th ranked BC Rakvere had identical 2-5 record. This time TTU used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Rakvere 93-78 on Wednesday night. The game was mostly controlled by TTU. BC Rakvere was better in second period 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. BC Rakvere was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for power forward Joonas Jarvelainen (202-90, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Sten Olmre (192-95) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Mario Paiste (186-89) answered with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and swingman Oliver Metsalu (196-93) added 17 points in the effort for BC Rakvere. Five TTU and four BC Rakvere players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. TTU maintains twelfth place with 3-5 record. Loser BC Rakvere keeps the thirteenth position with six games lost. TTU will have a break next round. BC Rakvere will play at home against Valmiera (#10) and hope to win that game.
