There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Viola RC (4-7) edged higher ranked Treviglio (5-6) in Reggio Calabria 90-88 on Thursday. Viola RC outrebounded Treviglio 30-19 including 21 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American-Jordanian guard Alex Legion (195-88, college: FIU, agency: Octagon Europe) orchestrated the victory by scoring 37 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Agustin Fabi (199-91) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Naturalized American guard Adam Sollazzo (198-90, college: E.Tenn.St.) answered with 26 points and 7 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and guard Tommaso Marino (192-86, agency: Octagon Europe) added 24 points and 4 assists in the effort for Treviglio. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Treviglio's coach Adriano Vertemati tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Viola RC maintains fourteenth place in A2 with 4-7 record. Loser Treviglio dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Viola RC will face higher ranked Latina Basket (#12) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
