Regular Season Round 15: Lorient - Lourdes 81-83

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourteenth ranked Lourdes-Tarbes and 13th ranked Lorient had identical 6-8 record. But Lorient was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Tarbes 83-81 on Friday night. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 29-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for naturalized American guard Jourdan Demuynck (198-90, college: Prairie View A&M, agency: HMS) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. The former international point guard Xane d'Almeida (181-83) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU) answered with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward Jared Newson (196-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Inception Sports) added 14 points and 5 assists in the effort for Lorient. Four Lourdes-Tarbes and five Lorient players scored in double figures. Lourdes-Tarbes (7-8) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Rennes and Chartres. Newly promoted Lorient dropped to the fourteenth position with nine games lost. Lourdes-Tarbes will face higher ranked ALS Basket (#9) in Andrezieux in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lorient will play at home against CFBB (#18) and hope to win that game.
