Regular Season Round 10: Doxa Lefkadas - Lavrio 63-64

A very close game took place in Lefkadas between Lavrio and Doxa Lefkadas. Thirteenth ranked Lavrio (3-7) got a very close victory on the road over 11th ranked Doxa Lefkadas (2-8). Lavrio managed to escape with a 1-point win 64-63 on Saturday evening. Doxa Lefkadas was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 25-18 charge of Lavrio, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 20 Doxa Lefkadas turnovers. American guard Demarius Bolds (193-84, college: Missouri Western) fired 22 points for the winners. The other American import forward Tyren Johnson (202-88, college: La-Lafayette) chipped in 8 points and 10 rebounds. Bolds is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Lavrio's coach Christos Serellis allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American point guard Shannon Scott (186-92, college: Ohio St.) produced 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and British point guard Justin Robinson (185-87, college: Rider, agency: Promotex) added 17 points and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Lavrio moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Apollon Patras and Koroivos. Doxa Lefkadas lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the thirteenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Trikalla. Lavrio will meet at home higher ranked Kolossos HH (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Doxa Lefkadas will play against AEK Athens (#3) and hope to secure a win.
