Undefeated Myrtia (9-1) recorded its first loss in Alfas Del Pi. Visitors were edged by ninth ranked L Alfas (3-7) 78-75. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Myrtia. Myrtia was ahead by 7 points at the halftime before a 20-8 third quarter run of L Alfas. They brought some defensive toughness making 11 blocks. The winners were led by power forward Alejandro Rivas (203-98) who scored that evening 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 blocks and Belarusian power forward Ivan Zhauniarovich (205-86) supported him with 11 points and 5 rebounds. Even 14 points and 7 rebounds by forward Jorge Lledo (203-80) did not help to save the game for Myrtia. Point guard Samuel Alcaraz (183-85) added 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four L Alfas and five Myrtia players scored in double figures. L Alfas maintains ninth position in Group E with 3-7 record. Myrtia at the other side still keeps top place with one game lost. L Alfas will play against higher ranked Paterna (#4) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Myrtia will play against Cartagena and hopes to get back on the winning track.
