Regular Season Round 12: Cholet - Orleans 86-81

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixteenth ranked Cholet Basket and 15th ranked Entente Orleans 45 had identical 4-7 record. This time Cholet Basket used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Orleans 86-81 on Saturday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Entente Orleans 45 won third quarter 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cholet Basket shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 59.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Isaiah Swann (188-85, college: Florida St.) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 5 assists and the former international forward Ilian Evtimov (201-83, college: N.Carolina St.) who added 13 points during the contest. Four Cholet Basket players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Marcellus Sommerville (200-82, college: Bradley) with 17 points and his fellow American import guard Verdell Jones III (195-89, college: Indiana, agency: Three Eye Sports) scored 15 points. Entente Orleans 45's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cholet Basket (5-7) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Entente Orleans 45 keeps the fifteenth position with eight games lost. Cholet Basket will face higher ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Entente Orleans 45 will play against Chalons-Reims (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
