Regular Season Round 15: Challans - Chartres 80-75

There was a surprise result when seventeenth ranked Vendee Challans (5-10) won against at home higher ranked UB Chartres (7-8) 80-75 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But UB Chartres won third quarter 23-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American guard Jordan Barham (193-94, college: Davidson) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Naturalized Mali point guard Ibrahim Saounera (179-87) contributed with 15 points and 6 assists for the winners. Point guard Olivier Romain (180-88) answered with 18 points and 8 assists and American forward Jonathan Mitchell (201-87, college: Rutgers, agency: Inception Sports) added 19 points in the effort for UB Chartres. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vendee Challans moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Gries/Oberhoffen and SAP Vaucluse. Loser UB Chartres dropped to the eleventh position with eight games lost. Vendee Challans will face SAP Vaucluse (#17) in Sorgues in the next round.
