Regular Season Round 12: Cazorla - Novaschool 84-99

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Cazorla (4-6) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Novaschool (4-5) 99-84 on Saturday. The game without a history. Novaschool led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Novaschool outrebounded Cazorla 41-29 including 33 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Alex Jackson (200-84, college: Mo.-St.Louis) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and center Anastasio Vazquez (204-92) who added 15 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. Jackson attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. Novaschool's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Andrew Kelly (201-91, college: Alaska-Fairb.) with 22 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard LeShaun Murphy (183-90, college: Auburn-Montgomery) scored 21 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Novaschool moved-up to fifth place in Group D-A. Loser Cazorla dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Novaschool will face Coin (#7) at home in the next round. Cazorla will play against Meridiano Baza in Alicante and hope to win that game.
