There was a minor upset when higher ranked Roma Virtus (6-6) were defeated on the road by tenth ranked Rieti (6-6) 81-76 on Sunday. They made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game. Roma Virtus were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American Dalton Pepper (196-90, college: Temple) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import forward DeShawn Sims (203-88, college: Michigan) who added 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward John Brown (203-92, college: High Point) with 23 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Aristide Landi (203-94) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Rieti went down to eleventh position (A2) due to points difference. Rieti will face league's leader Angelico Biella on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
