Regular Season Round 13: Jena - Walter Tigers 82-79

A very close game took place in Jena between Science City Jena and Walter Tigers. Eleventh ranked Science City Jena (5-7) got a very close home victory over 14th ranked Walter Tigers (4-9). Science City Jena managed to escape with a 3-point win 82-79 in the fight for the eleventh place. American players dominated the game. Guard Marcos Knight (188-89, college: Middle Tenn.St.) nailed 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and guard Immanuel McElroy (194-80, college: Cincinnati) accounted for 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Science City Jena players scored in double figures. Point guard Jared Jordan (187-84, college: Marist) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists and swingman Garlon Green (201-91, college: TCU) added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Walter Tigers in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Science City Jena maintains eleventh place with 5-7 record. Loser Walter Tigers dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost. They share it with Bremerhaven and Wuerzburg. Science City Jena will meet higher ranked BG Goettingen (#10) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Walter Tigers will play against ALBA Berlin and hope to secure a win.
