Regular Season Round 17: Shanxi BD - Qingdao E. 107-103

No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (9-8) beat 13th ranked Qingdao Eagles (6-11) in Taiyuan 107-103. Shanxi Zhongyu players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. 27 personal fouls committed by Qingdao Eagles helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: San Diego St.) who had a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Forward Junwei Ren (203-90) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Shanxi Zhongyu players scored in double figures. American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) produced a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Jerrelle Benimon (203-91, college: Towson) added 17 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Shanxi Zhongyu moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 5 other teams. Qingdao Eagles lost their third game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Shanxi Zhongyu's next round opponent will be Guangzhou (#19) on the road which should be an easy win for them. Qingdao Eagles will play against Bayi Rockets (#17) and hope to win that game.
