Regular Season Round 18: Nitra - Kosice 65-92

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Nitra (2-15) was crushed at home by second ranked Kosice (14-3) 92-65. Kosice forced 20 Nitra turnovers. It was a good game for the former international guard Milan Ziak (190-88) who led his team to a victory with 29 points and 4 assists. The former international center Michal Batka (204-87) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Coach Drazen Brajkovic's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Serbian forward Goran Ostojic (205-91) replied with 13 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian swingman Bogdan Riznic (202-90) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Nitra. Kosice have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 14-3 record having just one point less than leader Inter Bratislava. Nitra at the other side keeps the tenth place with 15 games lost. Kosice will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nitra will play on the road against Handlova (#8) in MBK Handlova and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
