Regular Season Round 3: MBK Ruzomb. - Freiburg 53-50

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of German Eisvogel Freiburg (1-1) on the court of Slovakian MBK Ruzomberok on Wednesday night. Visitors were edged by MBK Ruzomberok 53-50. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Eisvogel Freiburg won fourth quarter 16-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. MBK Ruzomberok forced 23 Eisvogel Freiburg turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Zuzana Lazarova (168-87) who scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Canadian forward Taijah Campbell (190-94, college: Virginia Tech) chipped in 8 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Kristen McCarthy (182-90, college: Temple) who recorded 14 points and 8 rebounds and center Nadjeschda Ilmberger (190-96) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively. MBK Ruzomberok will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Eisvogel Freiburg will play on the road against Valosun Brno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
