CBA top team - Shanghai Sharks (16-1) added another victory to their record on Wednesday. This time they beat seventh ranked Beijing Ducks (9-8) 99-94. Shanghai Sharks made 29-of-36 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game, while Beijing Ducks only scored nine points from the stripe. Shanghai Sharks had a 39-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Beijing Ducks helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. The former international guard XiaoYu Liu (191-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) added 24 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Beijing Ducks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Beijing Ducks' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Shanghai Sharks have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-1 record. Beijing Ducks lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Shanghai Sharks are looking forward to face bottom-ranked North Control (#20) in Beijing in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Beijing Ducks will play at home against Fujian (#18) and are hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
