Regular Season Round 13: Dragons - FC Bayern II 87-63

We should mention about the upset which took place in Rhoendorf, where higher ranked FC Bayern II (7-5) was outleveled in a road game by tenth ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (5-8) 87-63 on Saturday. Dragons Rhoendorf dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to FC Bayern II's 32 and made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded FC Bayern II 39-27 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. FC Bayern II was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Aaron Nelson (203-91, college: S.Indiana) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Viktor Frankl-Maus (186-93) chipped in 23 points and 5 steals. Dragons Rhoendorf's coach Matthias Sonnenschein felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Karim Jallow (199-97) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and forward Tobias Korndoerfer (204-90) added 16 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) respectively for lost side. Four FC Bayern II players scored in double figures. Dragons Rhoendorf moved-up to seventh place in South, which they share with Licher Baeren. Newly promoted FC Bayern II keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Dragons Rhoendorf will face USC Leipzig (#11) at home in the next round. FC Bayern II will play against Fraport Skyliners II (#9) and hope to win that game.
