Regular Season Round 15: Turk Telekom - Acibadem 75-78

A very interesting game took place in Ankara. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 9th ranked Turk Telekom (7-8) to fifth ranked Acibadem (10-5) 78-75 on Saturday evening. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Sharrod Ford (206-82, college: Clemson) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds. Point guard Can Ugur Ogut (178-92) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. American point guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) came up with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import center Gene Teague (206-89, college: Seton Hall, agency: HMS) added 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Turk Telekom in the defeat. Four Acibadem and five Turk Telekom players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Acibadem. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Turk Telekom lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. Acibadem's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Muglaorman (#18) at home which should be an easy win for them. Turk Telekom will play against Akhisar Bld (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
