Regular Season Round 13: Le Mans - Limoges 71-77

We should mention about the upset which took place in Le Mans, where higher ranked Le Mans (7-6) lost at home to eleventh ranked Limoges CSP Elite (6-7) 71-77 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Le Mans. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-12. But Le Mans won second period 20-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard William Buford (196-90, college: Ohio St., agency: Two Points) stepped up and scored 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import point guard DaShaun Wood (185-85, college: Wright St., agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. Five Limoges CSP Elite players scored in double figures. At the losing side Beninese power forward Mouphtaou Yarou (204-90, college: Villanova) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) and American point guard Giordan Watson (178-85, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: BeoBasket) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Limoges CSP Elite moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Hyeres-Toulon. Loser Le Mans dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Limoges CSP Elite will meet Olympique Antibes (#17) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Le Mans will play against ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
