Date: December 18, 2016
The game between Top Four teams took place in Shimane. Their biggest opponent host Shimane Magic (18-6) was smashed by first ranked Toyotsu FE (18-6) 65-45. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Shimane Magic. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Toyotsu FE. Shimane Magic was better in second period 17-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Shimane Magic to just 2 points in fourth quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Kohei Fukuzawa (177-93) contributed with 16 points for the winners. American center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) added 4 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Shimane Magic. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toyotsu FE maintains first place with 18-6 record, which they share with Shimane SM and Gunma. Toyotsu FE's next round opponent will be Orange Vikings (#4) in Matsuyama. Shimane Magic will play on the road against Cyberdyne IR in Tsukuba and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
