Regular Season Round 13: Novaschool - Coin 68-71

A very interesting game took place in Malaga. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 7th ranked Novaschool (4-6) to eighth ranked Coin (5-6) 71-68 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Novaschool. It looked good early as Novaschool took a 16-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Coin took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 3 points. They made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Coin forced 25 Novaschool turnovers. Strangely Novaschool outrebounded Coin 41-21 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Juan Vasco (200-83) nailed 18 points for the winning side and guard Francisco Robles (191-81) accounted for 12 points. American forward Alex Jackson (200-84, college: Mo.-St.Louis) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized American guard Marco Porcher Jimenez (193-92, college: FIU) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Novaschool in the defeat. Four Novaschool players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Coin moved-up to fourth place in Group D-A, which they share with 3 other teams. Novaschool at the other side dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
