Regular Season Round 11: Vasas - Szedeak 75-71

Bottom-ranked Vasas managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of seven consecutive losses. This time newly promoted Vasas won against tenth-ranked Szedeak in Budapest 75-71. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Vasas made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Szedeak turnovers. Strangely Szedeak outrebounded Vasas 39-19 including a 18-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American forward A.J. Pacher (208-92, college: Wright St.) who led the winners and scored 24 points. His fellow American import point guard Ronnie Taylor (187-81, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 17 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Serbian center Nenad Sulovic (202-85, agency: BeoBasket) came up with 22 points and 9 rebounds and the former international power forward Levente Juhos (208-91, college: Moberly Area CC) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Szedeak in the defeat. Vasas (2-9) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with MAFC. Szedeak lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with six games lost. Vasas will play against league's second-placed Kormend on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Szedeak will play against Szolnok (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
