Very expected game in Tianjin where 14th ranked TianJin Steel (7-12) was defeated by third ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (16-3) 104-96 on Sunday. TianJin Steel was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Bulgarian point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: Stealth Sport) fired 52 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. International center Qi Zhou (217-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Xinjiang Flying Tige players scored in double figures. American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) produced 26 points and 9 assists and Palestinian center Sani Sakakini (204-88) added 14 points and 19 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Xinjiang Flying Tige have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Guangdong ST. Loser TianJin Steel keeps the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige will face Beijing Ducks (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. TianJin Steel will play against Qingdao Eagles (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
