An interesting game took place in Sorocabana where higher ranked Vasco Da G. (4-5) was upset on the court of thirteenth ranked Liga Sorocaba (3-7) 74-70 on Tuesday. Liga Sorocaba forced 22 Vasco Da G. turnovers. It was a great evening for guard Rafael Castellon (192-85) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Jefferson Sobral (203-80) helped adding 16 points (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). The former international point guard Welington Dos Santos (185-81) responded with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and American guard David Jackson (195-82, college: Penn St.) scored 18 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Liga Sorocaba maintains thirteenth place with 3-7 record. Loser Vasco Da G. dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. Liga Sorocaba will face bottom-ranked Caxias do Sul (#15) at home in the next round.
