Regular Season Round 21: Kremen - Bipa Basket 73-62

We should mention about the upset which took place in Kremenchuk, where higher ranked Bipa Basket (10-9) lost to ninth ranked Kremen (7-12) in a road game 62-73 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Kremen. Bipa Basket managed to win second period 13-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Azerbaijani Amil Hamzayev (204-90, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) stepped up and scored 26 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and guard Oleksandr Shostuha (192-84) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Klym Artamonov (185-93) with 14 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Kenney Funderburk (193-92, college: Columbus St., agency: AproK Sports Group) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Four Bipa Basket players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Kremen. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Mykolaiv. Loser Bipa Basket keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. Kremen will meet at home league's leader Khimik in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bipa Basket will play against Avantazh-Polit. (#11) in Kharkiv and hope to secure a win.
