Regular Season Round 21: Shanxi BD - Shandong GS 104-107

Important game to mention about took place in Taiyuan. Tenth ranked Shandong Bulls (11-10) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 9th ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (11-11) 107-104 on Sunday evening. They outrebounded Shanxi Zhongyu 48-36 including 33 on the defensive glass. International forward Yanyuhang Ding (200-93) stepped up and scored 41 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds for the winners and American forward Jason Thompson (211-86, college: Rider) chipped in 10 points and 16 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: San Diego St.) with 30 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 6 steals (went 14 for 14 at the free throw line !!!) and center PengFei Yan (207-93) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shanxi Zhongyu's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Shandong Bulls moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Jiangsu D. Shanxi Zhongyu lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. Shandong Bulls will play against TianJin Steel (#13) in Tianjin in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Shanxi Zhongyu will play on the road against Leopards in Shenzhen and hopes to get back on the winning track.
