Regular Season Round 7: Fukuoka Rizing - Kanazawa Sam. 61-73

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Fukuoka Rizing (19-3) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Kanazawa Sam. (17-5) 73-61. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Kanazawa Sam.. Fukuoka Rizing managed to win second period 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Fukuoka Rizing helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) helped adding 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Kanazawa Sam. players scored in double figures. At the losing side Ghanian-British forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning (205-88, college: Washington) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and guard Daisuke Kobayashi (188-87) scored 10 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kanazawa Sam. have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 17-5 record having just two points less than leader Fukuoka Rizing. Fukuoka Rizing at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Kanazawa Sam. are looking forward to face Tokyo Cinq R. (#5) at home in the next round. Fukuoka Rizing will play against Otsuka A. (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
