Regular Season Round 3: Astana Tigers - Okzhetpes 101-30

Very significant was Astana Tigers' (#1, 6-0) victory against Okzhetpes (0-6) 101-30. Astana Tigers held Okzhetpes to an opponent 22.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 51.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Astana Tigers forced 38 Okzhetpes turnovers and outrebounded them 42-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 1 passes made by Okzhetpes' players. It was an exceptional evening for the former international center Anna Vinokurova (192-92) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Zalina Kurazova (188-85) accounted for 16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals for the winning side. Four Astana Tigers players scored in double figures. Center Tolmagay Ermagambetova (176-95) came up with 13 points and 5 rebounds and Tolganay Ermagambetova added 6 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Okzhetpes in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Astana Tigers will again play against Okzhetpes (#3) in Kokshetay in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Okzhetpes will play on the road against Irtysh in Pavlodar and look forward to get finally their first victory.
