WNBL round 12 most important game was a victory of Sydney Uni Flames over one of their biggest challengers Perth Lynx 93-69 on Friday night. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Sydney Uni Flames. Perth Lynx managed to win third quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American forward Asia Taylor (185-91, college: Louisville, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international point guard Leilani Mitchell (165-85, college: Utah) contributed with 27 points and 4 steals for the winners. Five Sydney Uni Flames players scored in double figures. Sydney Uni Flames' coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Samantha Whitcomb (178-88, college: Washington) replied with 22 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and international guard Tessa Lavey (172-93) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Perth Lynx. Sydney Uni Flames have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Bendigo. Perth Lynx at the other side dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Sydney Uni Flames is looking forward to face Canberra Capitals (#6) at home in the next round. Perth Lynx will play against the league's second-placed Bendigo Spirit and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
