Regular Season Round 30: Shinshu BW - Kagoshima 84-77

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Shinshu BW (10-19) beat 6th ranked Kagoshima (3-25) in Nagano 84-77 on Tuesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kagoshima won third quarter 26-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shinshu BW made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Strangely Kagoshima outrebounded Shinshu BW 49-30 including 20 on the offensive glass. American forward Joshua Dollard (203-86, college: Auburn) notched 23 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import forward Will Carter (200-88, college: San Jose St., agency: HMS) supported him with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Even a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) by Nigerian forward Chukwudiebere Maduabum (206-91) did not help to save the game for Kagoshima. American-Panamanian forward Tymell Murphy (196-90, college: FIU) added 12 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Kagoshima's coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Shinshu BW maintains fourth position with 10-19 record. Loser Kagoshima keeps the sixth place with 25 games lost. Shinshu BW will meet Aomori Watts (#5) on the road in the next round. Kagoshima will play against the league's second-placed Gunma and hope to secure a win.
