Regular Season Round 18: Forca Lleida - Burgos 78-80

Important game to mention about took place in Lleida. Third ranked Burgos (13-5) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 9th ranked Lleida Basquet (10-8) 80-78 on Tuesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. It was a good game for center Javier Vega (205-88) who led his team to a victory with 16 points. Forward Eduardo Martinez (202-90) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Burgos players scored in double figures. American guard Garrett Nevels (188-92, college: Hawaii) replied with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Argentinian guard Juan Sutina (192-90) added 17 points in the effort for Lleida Basquet. Lleida Basquet's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Burgos have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Gipuzkoa GBC and Oviedo. Lleida Basquet lost third consecutive game. Lleida Basquet at the other side keeps the ninth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Melilla. Burgos will play against Leche Rio Breogan (#5) in Lugo in the next round. Lleida Basquet will play on the road against Caceres Basket (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
