Everything went according to plan when second ranked Crailsheim Merlins (14-4) outplayed at home 11th ranked Nuernberg (6-11) 99-68 on Thursday. Crailsheim Merlins dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Nuernberg's 32. Crailsheim Merlins forced 19 Nuernberg turnovers and outrebounded them 34-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Swingman Kevin Tiggs (196-84, college: E.Tenn.St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 4 assists. Point guard Christopher Dunn (189-83, college: W.Virginia St., agency: Inception Sports) contributed with 13 points and 9 assists for the winners. Four Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. Point guard Diante Watkins (174-90, college: Robert Morris) answered with 17 points and 4 assists and forward Dan Oppland (203-84, college: Valparaiso) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Nuernberg. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Crailsheim Merlins. They maintain second place with 14-4 record behind leader MBC. Loser Nuernberg dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
