Regular Season Round 13: Pardubice - Prostejov B 108-67

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Pardubice and 7th ranked BK Prostejov B had identical 4-8 record. This time Pardubice used a home court advantage and outplayed the opponent from Prostejov 108-67 on Friday night. Pardubice dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to BK Prostejov B's 38. Pardubice forced 22 BK Prostejov B turnovers and outrebounded them 51-35 including 20 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by BK Prostejov B's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Pardubice made 7 blocks. Forward Josef Potocek (196-96) fired 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds for the winners. Center Karel Formanek (202-97) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Pardubice players scored in double figures. Slovakian Milan Szabo (204-98) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Martin Nabelek (176-98) added 16 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pardubice (5-8) moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with Ostrava. Newly promoted BK Prostejov B dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. Pardubice will face league's leader SKB Zlin on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BK Prostejov B will play against Havirov (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
