The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Canberra Capitals' (8-8) road loss to fifth ranked Townsville Fire (10-7) 60-93. The game was mostly controlled by Townsville Fire. Canberra Capitals was better in fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Canberra Capitals to just 6 points in third quarter. Townsville Fire dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Canberra Capitals' 34. They outrebounded Canberra Capitals 51-33 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds.
