Regular Season Round 13: IF Air Europa - Rivas Promete 90-65

There was a surprise result in S'Arenal where twelfth ranked IF Air Europa (5-8) outleveled higher ranked Rivas Promete (7-6) 90-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by IF Air Europa. Rivas Promete was better in fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. IF Air Europa dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Rivas Promete's 34. IF Air Europa forced 22 Rivas Promete turnovers. Power forward Patricia Soler (186-94) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and guard Regina Gomez (173-82) chipped in 25 points and 5 rebounds. Four IF Air Europa players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Susana Bacete (179-93) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and forward Paula Ginzo (187-98) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. IF Air Europa moved-up to tenth place in Group B, which they share with Batalyaws and Promete. Loser Rivas Promete keeps the seventh position with six games lost. IF Air Europa will face higher ranked C.Adelantados (#3) in San Cristobal in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
