Regular Season Round 14: Vigo VGO - La Fecha 76-72

There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Vigo VGO (2-9) beat at home higher ranked La Fecha (5-6) 76-72 on Saturday. La Fecha was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Lucas Vaquero (185-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 5 rebounds. American Johnathan Murphy (199-89, college: Columbus St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Murphy is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Vigo VGO players scored in double figures. Alejandro Fisac (183-96) replied with 26 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Andres Fernandez (178-89) added 14 points and 5 assists in the effort for La Fecha. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Vigo VGO maintains thirteenth position in Group A-B with 2-9 record. Loser La Fecha dropped to the ninth place with six games lost. Vigo VGO will face league's leader Chantada on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
