Regular Season Round 17: Challans - St Vallier 75-68

We should mention about the upset which took place in Challans, where 4th placed Saint Vallier (10-7) lost to fifteenth ranked Vendee Challans (7-10) in a road game 68-75 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Saint Vallier won third quarter 25-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Vendee Challans won last quarter 14-8. The best player for the winners was American guard Jordan Barham (193-94, college: Davidson) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import center Demarco Cox (203-90, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 8 points and 13 rebounds. American power forward Steffon Bradford (198-77, college: Nebraska) produced a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Sade Aded Hussein (208-93) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Vendee Challans have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Lorient. Loser Saint Vallier dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Vendee Challans will face higher ranked Union Rennes (#10) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Saint Vallier will play against Rueil (#3) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
