Regular Season Round 8: Astana Tigers - AZS UMCS 51-70

The game in Astana was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Polish AZS UMCS (6-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Kazakhstan Astana Tigers (2-6). AZS UMCS did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 70-51 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by AZS UMCS. Astana Tigers managed to win fourth quarter 19-7. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Asia Boyd (185-92, college: Kansas, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and Nigerian forward Uju Ugoka (185-93, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Two Points) who added 8 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. AZS UMCS's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Anna Vinokurova (192-92) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and forward Tamara Yagodkina (181-90) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. AZS UMCS maintains fifth position with 6-2 record. Astana Tigers at the other side keep the eighth place with six games lost. They share the position with Kibirkstis.
