Regular Season Round 18: Ratiopharm - Jena 114-83

Undefeated leader ratiopharm Ulm delivered the seventeenth consecutive win on Sunday night. This time they crushed 12th ranked Science City Jena (6-11) 114-83. ratiopharm Ulm made 21-of-22 free shots (95.5 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 53.1 percentage. ratiopharm Ulm looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Raymar Morgan (203-88, college: Michigan St.) who scored 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. The other American import guard Chris Babb (196-90, college: Iowa St.) chipped in 28 points. Four ratiopharm Ulm players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Ermen Reyes-Napoles (186-89) who recorded 16 points and 4 assists and center Oliver Mackeldanz (213-90) added 14 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ratiopharm Ulm (17-0) have an impressive 17-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 17 victories in a row. Newly promoted Science City Jena keeps the twelfth place with 11 games lost. ratiopharm Ulm are looking forward to face Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#13) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Science City Jena will play against Walter Tigers in Tuebingen and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
