Leader Helsinki Seagulls delivered the sixteenth victory on Wednesday night. This time they beat 10th ranked UU-Korihait (4-15) 81-63 in Uusikaupunki. The game without a history. Helsinki Seagulls led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by UU-Korihait's players. The former international center Gerald Lee (208-87, college: ODU) scored 26 points (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Antto Nikkarinen (185-91, agency: Blacktop Management) chipped in 12 points and 12 assists during the contest. At the losing side point guard Mikko Jalonen (186-82) responded with 10 points and 6 assists and American guard Emmanuel Holloway (185-86, college: Illinois St., agency: Blacktop Management) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Helsinki Seagulls maintains first position with 16-4 record. UU-Korihait lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Helsinki Seagulls will meet at home Tampereen Pyrinto (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. UU-Korihait will play against the league's second-placed Salon Vilpas and hope to secure a win.
