Regular Season Round 13: Tarvas - P.Zvaigzdes 77-112

Very expected game when 13th ranked Estonian BC Rakvere (2-8) was crushed at home by eighth ranked Lithuanian P.Zvaigzdes (10-1) 112-77 on Wednesday. The game without a history. P.Zvaigzdes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to BC Rakvere's 38 and made 19-of-20 free shots (95.0 percent) during the game. P.Zvaigzdes had a 33-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by BC Rakvere's players. Canadian-Lithuanian point guard Evaldas Zabas (188-88) stepped up and scored 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Russian forward Nikita Balashov (207-91, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four P.Zvaigzdes players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Justin Baker (203-89, college: Utah Valley) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Oliver Metsalu (196-93) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. BC Rakvere's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for P.Zvaigzdes. They maintain eighth place with 10-1 record. BC Rakvere lost their third game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with eight games lost. P.Zvaigzdes will have a break next round. BC Rakvere will play at home against COR-Borisfen (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
