Regular Season Round 14: Chemidor - Arak 85-79

The most important game in the last round took place in Tehran between third ranked Arak (8-5) and sixth ranked Chemidor (7-6) on Thursday night. Arak was defeated by Chemidor in a tough game on the road 79-85. Arak was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Arak 42-30 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. 28 personal fouls committed by Arak helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Daequan Cook (195-87, college: Ohio St.) scored 31 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian power forward Povilas Cukinas (210-83) chipped in 16 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. American-Georgian forward Quinton Hosley (201-84, college: Fresno St.) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Daniel Williams (195-87, college: Lewis-Clark St.) scored 17 points. Four Chemidor and five Arak players scored in double figures. Chemidor maintains sixth position with 7-6 record. Arak at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Azad and Tabriz. Chemidor's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tehran to the arena Army.
