Regular Season Round 22: Al Rayyan - Al Sadd 110-59

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Al Rayyan (#4) and Al Sadd (#7). Al Rayyan (6-3) crushed visiting Al Sadd (3-6) by 51 points 110-59. The game without a history. Al Rayyan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Al Sadd's 38. Al Rayyan forced 30 Al Sadd turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American point guard Marcel Anderson (183-86, college: Harris-Stowe St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 37 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. International forward Abdelrahman Abdelhaleem (205-96) contributed with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Anderson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Al Rayyan players scored in double figures. Omar Saad answered with 18 points and 4 assists and the former international swingman Khalid Abdi (198-87) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Al Sadd. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Al Arabi. Al Sadd at the other side keeps the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Al Shamal.
