Important game to mention about took place in Vantaa. Sixth ranked Raholan Pyrkiva (10-6) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging top-ranked PuHu Juniorit (11-4) 73-71 on Friday evening. PuHu Juniorit was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Russian guard Artem Shchepkin (194-86) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points. Guard Lauri Tiainen (193-90) contributed with 9 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Shchepkin is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Guard Eero Lehtinen (194-85) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and guard Pyry Rainamaa (194-90) added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for PuHu Juniorit. PuHu Juniorit's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Raholan Pyrkiva maintains sixth position in Division with 10-6 record. PuHu Juniorit at the other side dropped to the second place with four games lost. Raholan Pyrkiva will play against JyWe (#10) in Jyvaskyla in the next round. PuHu Juniorit will have a break next round.
