Regular Season Round 18: Brest - Impuls BGUIR 63-66

Eighth-ranked Brest (2-13) used its home court advantage to challenge fifth ranked Impuls BGUIR (9-8). The visitors from Minsk managed to secure only three-point victory 66-63. However their fans expected easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Brest won third quarter 18-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Brest was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international guard Maksim Shustov (188-86) scored 30 points to lead the charge for the winners and Genadziy Zahar (200-92) chipped in 7 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Dmitriy Dmitruk (198-81) with 19 points and 5 rebounds and guard Sergey Moshko (185-90) scored 7 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Impuls BGUIR maintains fifth position with 9-8 record. Brest lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with GOCOR-Sozh. Impuls BGUIR will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Brest will play again at home against Impuls BGUIR (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
