Regular Season Round 25: Kosice - Handlova 96-73

SBL top team - Kosice (19-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Handlova (10-13) 96-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Handlova. Kosice forced 19 Handlova turnovers. The former international guard Milan Ziak (190-88) stepped up and scored 28 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners and Serbian guard Stefan Matovic (203-91) chipped in 17 points and 12 rebounds. At the losing side Serbian swingman Nemanja Gudzic (195-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and forward Ondrej Haviar (194-85) scored 12 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kosice maintains first place with 19-4 record. Newly promoted Handlova dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. Kosice will play against Iskra Svit (#5) on the road in the next round. Handlova will play against Karlovka in Bratislava and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
