Regular Season Round 15: AEC Collblanc - Sant Nicolau 66-58

Very expected game in L´Hospitalet where 13th ranked Sant Nicolau (3-9) was defeated by sixth ranked AEC Collblanc (7-4) 66-58 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sant Nicolau won third quarter 13-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Sant Nicolau 42-24 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Sant Nicolau was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Lluis Jacas (198-90) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. Point guard Josep Maria Guzman (182-84) helped adding 13 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was forward Marc Sobrepera (201-86) with 14 points and 4 steals and point guard Lluis Curto (188-84) scored 13 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. AEC Collblanc moved-up to fourth place in Group C-A. Loser Sant Nicolau dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost. AEC Collblanc will face Arenys (#6) in Arenys del Mar in the next round. Sant Nicolau will play against the league's second-placed Calvia (#2) and hope to win that game.
