There was a minor upset in Ourense where 4th placed Naron (7-5) was defeated by sixth ranked Calidus Gal.COB (7-4) 82-65 on Saturday. The game without a history. Calidus Gal.COB led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Calidus Gal.COB forced 21 Naron turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Cristian Iglesias (198-94) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Xabier Arriaga (202-97, agency: Dynamics Global Management) helped adding 23 points. The best for the losing side was American forward Tim Gill (203-93, college: Clarion) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import guard Rob Brandenberg (188-92, college: VCU) scored 16 points. Five Calidus Gal.COB and four Naron players scored in double figures. Naron's coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Calidus Gal.COB moved-up to fifth place in Group A-B. Loser Naron dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Calidus Gal.COB will face Betanzos (#8) on the road in the next round. Naron will play against La Fecha and hope to win that game.
