Very predictable result in Lugo where fifth ranked Leche Rio Breogan (13-6) defeated 14th ranked Caceres Basket (8-12) 84-78. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It looked good early as Caceres Basket took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Leche Rio Breogan had a 27-21 second period charge getting the lead and Caceres Basket was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 78-84. Point guard Josep Franch (193-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 5 assists. Guard Jose Salvador Arco (196-84, agency: Duran International) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Leche Rio Breogan's coach Natxo Lezcano allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Croatian center Aleksandar Marcius (208-90, college: De Paul) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and forward Sergio Perez (205-79) added 19 points in the effort for Caceres Basket. Four Caceres Basket players scored in double figures. Leche Rio Breogan moved-up to fourth place. Caceres Basket lost third consecutive game. Caceres Basket at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. Leche Rio Breogan's next round opponent will be higher ranked Palencia Baloncesto (#3) on the road and it may be the game of the week. Caceres Basket will play against the league's leader Oviedo CB (#1) and hope to win that game.
