Regular Season Round 13: Szolnok - Kormend 72-60

The game between second ranked Kormend (9-4) and eighth ranked Szolnok (7-6) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Kormend was defeated by Szolnok in Szolnok 60-72. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kormend. The game without a history. Szolnok led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Troy Barnies (200-89, college: Maine) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Montenegrin Nikola Pavlicevic (192-88) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Szolnok players scored in double figures. American guard Lenzelle Smith Jr. (193-91, college: Ohio St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Terry Allen (203-93, college: Richmond) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Kormend. Defending champion moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Szedeak. Kormend at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with ZTE KK. Szolnok is looking forward to face higher ranked PVSK Pannon (#4) in Pecs in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kormend will play at home against Szedeak and is hoping to win this game.
